Some of the projects I've helped with recently

Former Stalybridge Police Station, Tameside

Negative Building in Conservation Area

I produced a Heritage Statement for Watson Construction Ltd for the demolition of the 1960s concrete former police station and the construction of residential accommodation for vulnerable adults.  The new building is of the same height and massing but uses a sympathetic palette of materials to the nearby listed market building in a simple and contemporary style, in line with best practice for work in historic areas.

Cliff College, Curbar, Derbyshire

Detailed Assessment Significance of Listed Building

I assessed the significance of all parts of the College, the late 18th century house being listed.  It was extended after being purchased by James Hilton Hulme, who intended to create an Independent training college, and taken over by the Methodist Church in 1904.  The College is now working to improve physical access.

The Wharf, Marple - Update

Grade II-listed wharf and canal warehouse

I am currently updating a Conservation Management Plan for the Community Interest Company (CIC), after the completion of Phase 1 and 2 conservation and repair works.  This will support an application for Lottery funding to complete the conversion of the building for a Heritage and Visitor Centre and café with a community fitness and well-being centre on the first floor
